Principal's Message

Welcome to Horizon Elementary’ s school website. We are a pre-k through 5th grade public school of almost 800 students and 100 staff. We opened in 1989 and are located in the central Port Orange area.

We have two main goals for our students each and every year; academic growth and socio-emotional growth. Both of these goals are equally important so we use them to guide our instruction on a daily basis. These goals can only be accomplished through hard work from our faculty and staff with the support of our families and community members. We encourage you to become involved in your child’s education as many ways as possible. Whether it is becoming a member of the School Advisory Committee, joining our PTA, or becoming a classroom volunteer, we encourage any and all activities that you are able to participate in.
